Inductive sensors from BERNSTEINPrecise metal detection for industrial automation
Inductive sensors are central elements of modern automation systems. They detect metallic objects precisely, contact-free and wear-free - and keep production processes moving reliably. Whether in assembly systems, robot systems or conveyor lines: The robust technology ensures reliable detection even under harsh conditions.
With their high switching accuracy, long service life and compact design, inductive proximity switches are among the most proven solutions when it comes to long-term process reliability and efficiency.
Functionality and design of inductive sensors
Inductive sensors detect metallic objects precisely, reliably and without contact. Inside, a coil generates a high-frequency magnetic field that registers changes in the environment.
As soon as a metal object enters this field, eddy currents are generated that dampen the magnetic field. This change is analysed by the electronics and converted into a switching signal.
The result is precise and repeatable detection without any mechanical contact. Thanks to their robust, closed design, inductive proximity switches also work reliably in places where dust, oil or vibrations are part of everyday life.
Strengths and special features of inductive sensorsBuilt for real conditions
Inductive sensors offer a number of advantages that make them an integral part of modern automation. They work contact-free and wear-free, are insensitive to dust, oil and moisture and impress with their high switching accuracy and long service life.
Only metallic objects are detected. Alternative sensor technologies are used for other materials such as plastics or liquids.
Find the right sensor
Not every sensor is suitable for every task. The material, distance and environment determine which type shows its strengths.
Inductive, capacitive or magnetic - each detects in its own way, precisely and reliably. This creates precision where technology and application interact perfectly.
