The right material for your terminal enclosure
From robust aluminium housings to versatile plastic variants: The material has a decisive influence on the properties of a terminal box. Among other things, it influences stability and durability and therefore also how well the enclosure can withstand the demands of industrial use. BERNSTEIN offers solutions made of aluminium, polyester, ABS and polycarbonate.
Customised processing and adaptation
In addition to standard solutions, BERNSTEIN offers a wide range of options for customising terminal enclosures. Mechanical processing, surface finishing or fully assembled variants can be customised to suit the respective application. Further information on our machining services can be found on the "Enclosure machining" page.
Enclosure solutions from BERNSTEIN
Less customisation, fewer interfaces: BERNSTEIN combines standard enclosures with customised processing and technical advice. This results in enclosure solutions that can be seamlessly integrated into machines and systems. Experienced contacts support you from selection to realisation – with a practical focus and tailored to the requirements of industrial applications.
The choice of material has a direct influence on how an enclosure behaves in use. Aluminium is particularly suitable for applications with high mechanical loads. Plastic variants such as polyester, ABS or polycarbonate, on the other hand, offer advantages in terms of moisture or corrosive influences as well as low weight.
BERNSTEIN offers terminal enclosures in precisely these materials, reliably covering the requirements of typical industrial applications.
In outdoor areas, enclosures must be permanently protected against moisture, dust and temperature fluctuations. Suitable materials and protection classes such as IP66 or IP67 are crucial here.
For applications under such conditions, special versions are used that are designed for outdoor use.
Additional requirements apply in potentially explosive atmospheres. Here, Ex terminal enclosures are used that fulfil the relevant standards and approvals such as ATEX and guarantee safe operation.
The selection of a suitable terminal enclosure always depends on the specific application. The ambient conditions, the mechanical load and the material and protection class requirements are particularly important.
Standards and approvals can also play a role, for example in outdoor applications or in potentially explosive atmospheres. Careful coordination ensures that the enclosure functions reliably in the long term and can be integrated without the need for additional customisation.
